BSB Shoebag Appeal 2016

13 January 2016

Chinese, German & Korean versions are available to download below.

  • shoebag appeal

Dear Parents

We are continuing with our BSB shoebag appeal which was superbly supported by you all last year.  The BSB Shoebag Appeal 2016 aims to collect at least 200 bags filled with useful gift items for children of school age (5 years – 18 years). These will then be distributed to the pupils in a school in Gansu province; if we exceed our 200 target we will distribute the remainder to local Migrant schools in Beijing. They will receive them during the Chinese New Year celebrations in February 2016.

We hope, once again, many families/students and staff at BSB will be able to help with this appeal in some way.

This year we would like to make it as easy as possible for you to take part.  In order to do this we have found the cost of putting together a ready-made bag for donation.   If you would like to help in this way please may we ask that you donate the sum of 100 RMB.  The attached sheet gives examples of what will be included in these bags.

Alternatively you may donate your own items for this appeal.  If this is your preferred method please can we stress that ONLY the items listed on the attached sheet are donated as we will otherwise be unable to use them.

Our Year 12 IB CAS students will help coordinate the bags and the donated items, check they are age related and arrange for them to be distributed to the schools.

Donations should be enclosed in an envelope labelled ‘Shoebag Appeal 2016’ and handed to our main reception.  Money collected will be used to buy bags and items to fill the bags. All monies need to be handed in by WEDNESDAY 20th January 2016.

Donated gift items for bags can be left in the labelled boxes in the foyer. Please place items in the labelled boxes to help the sorting process.  Deadline for items is TUESDAY 26th January 2016.

Many thanks for your support with this appeal and we hope it is as successful as last year.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, colleen.usher@britishschool.org.cn

Best wishes,

Colleen Usher
