From 16-21 May, eleven Key Stage 3 students participated in Music FOBISIA at BSJ in Jakarta.
They spent most of their time in rehearsals with the esteemed conductors Iswargia Sudarno (orchestra) and Rainier Revireno (choir) and then performed under their direction in a final concert on Sunday 20th May.
Throughout the festival weekend, our students had the opportunity to make friends with musicians from other FOBISIA schools and experience how exciting it is to be a part of larger ensembles. Though there wasn’t much downtime, we were able to see various aspects of Indonesian culture through some of the festival activities and workshops, such as Indonesian instruments and dance.
It was a wonderful trip and a great opportunity for our young musicians, who all gave a brilliant performance at the concert!
