I have received my Bachelor of Education degree for Primary Education from the Private University for Teaching Education (KPH) in Graz, Austria. After leaving University, I worked one year as a full-time class teacher at the primary school of Sinabelkirchen in Austria. Besides my teaching experience, I supported and accompanied students from the age of 14 to 19, with severe mental and physical disabilities. As well as this, I was Volunteer at the Special Olympic World Winter Games in Schladming and Graz in 2017. Both of these had a huge impact on my views of inclusion and diversity.
Besides giving children the best possible education, being a primary school teacher means strengthening the children’s ability to discover their individual potentials and skills which make them unique and enhance their self-confidence. A respectful communication and an appreciative cooperation with teaching staff and parents are very important to me and a prerequisite for a sound and harmonious interaction and cooperation. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to work with children and to accompany them through a positive experience at BSB, Shunyi.
Outside of school, I am very keen on sports, especially on Austrian´s national sports: skiing and football. Besides playing at a non-professional club, I was the head of the refugee football project and the Co-Coach of the successful Under-13 team, in my hometown in 2017 and 2018. In the summertime I love to be in nature or in the mountains and I enjoy spending time with friends. It is my first time in China, my first time abroad and my first experience at an international school and I am glad that I am part of BSB Shunyi and NAE. I am looking forward to exploring the Chinese culture and learning Mandarin.
