I received two bachelor's Degrees from the University of Kentucky in Music Education and Music Performance in the specialty of percussion. I am currently working on my Master's in Culture, Language, and Education at Western Illinois University. My background is in music. I have travelled the world, playing in some of the most prestigious concert halls, like Carnegie Hall and The Royal Concertgebouw.
I have been teaching in China for the past five years. Education has been a huge foundation in my life, and I decided in 2018 to start working in English and child development in China. Through the years, I have taught students ages 2 – 11 years of age, in all subject areas including Music, English, Science, Maths and Social Studies. These experiences have truly made me into the teacher I am and have been a rewarding experience.
I decided to come to BSB Shunyi in August 2022 and take the opportunity to join a talented team of education professionals, focused on the quality of teaching and leanring and overall child development. I couldn’t pass up the chance to be a part of a great team like that.
I am a very passionate and caring person who loves making people smile. Nothing makes me happier than cheering people up and keeping them focused on their goals. I love to do crafts and hands-on projects. I have been an avid crocheter and love to cook. I love animals! I have had over five dogs and worked at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL, raising seahorses and taking care of many delightful saltwater and freshwater creatures.
