Neena Bharani (2)

Head of Year 4

I studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Kent, Canterbury and DeMontfort University. After sometime in the accounting field, I decided to change my career path and strive to become someone who could make an impact on the future generation. During my time at school, my teachers made such an impression on my learning journey and truly believed in my potential; this experience inspired me to become the very teacher I am today.

I completed the PGCE for Primary Education at the Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln. With the desire to make an impact and develop my career, I decided to move to London and teach in inner city schools. Teaching in these areas gave me a wealth of experience. It provided me with a platform to develop my management skills as Year Group Leader of 5 and 6 and lead core subjects such a Writing and Science. As a strong believer of lifelong learning, I have continued my professional development by completing the Montessori training and Middle Leaders training.

Teaching to me is about inspiring children to reach their full potential and providing them with the skills they need to reach their own dreams and aspirations. I am devoted to working with children, exploring their minds and guiding their learning through challenge. I am committed to build on this and become an unforgettable teacher to every child I teach. I want to make a worthwhile and valuable contribution to BSB and continue to embed their belief of child-centred learning in my teaching practice. I believe children learn best in a warm, engaging environment where there is a strong emphasis placed on the teacher facilitating child-led enquiry and promoting independence. I have always loved travelling to different parts of the world and think that International schools are very special places for both students and staff, therefore I was delighted to obtain a position at BSB.

My interests outside of school include swimming/gym; visiting the theatre; sitting down with a fantastic book; spending quality time with friends and family and travelling to new exotic places. I believe life is all about creating unforgettable memories and living in the moment. I am very excited about my journey at BSB and immersing myself into the culture and traditions of Beijing.
