Last week our Foundation 2 children were very excited to launch their new gardening project. Tasked with planting aubergine, tomato and chilli pepper plants, before the planting could begin, they first had some important planning to do and questions to answer. What tools to select for digging the soil and watering the plants? How much space would each plant need and how many plants would fit in each planter box? How big did they need to dig the holes? Which plants would produce which vegetable? Having found the answers to their questions, they got stuck into the dirty work of digging and planting. Now they have to carefully tend and nurture their plants and are eagerly anticipating them producing tasty aubergines, tomatoes and chilli peppers.
