I am a qualified Early Years teacher having graduated from my Early Childhood and SEN BA Honours combined degree at Liverpool Hope University at an upper second-class honours classification (2:1). I have gained significant practical experience of working with children from ages 0-7 and have been teaching Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in international schools since 2018. I teach English as a second language through adhering to the English EYFS curriculum. So far I have taught in Early Years in a variety of countries, including Belgium, Italy and Thailand.
I have also completed a Level 5 (Foundation degree) in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, whilst teaching full time in Italy, to help promote my pedagogy and teaching practice for EAL learners. I have a longstanding interest in and commitment to developing a career in the international education sector and I wish to further my knowledge by experiencing different EYFS curriculum methods and cultural approaches to education.
I am from Liverpool, United Kingdom. My passions include dogs, travelling and of course, teaching Early Years. I also love to dance (even though I may not be very good at it) and will be looking for dance schools when I arrive in Beijing. I have taught in 3 countries so far, including Belgium, Italy and Thailand. I am currently teaching Reception at an International School in Phuket, Thailand. Whilst in Thailand I have had the opportunity to explore and emerse myself in Asian culture - from the food, people, beaches, language and travelling to other countries in South East Asia and I have loved every minute of it!
I am very excited to start my Nord Anglia experience with the British School of Beijing and enhancing my professional teaching career. I am extremely looking forward to life in Beijing and exploring city.
“The goal of Early Childhood Education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn”-Maria Montersori
