At North Broward Preparatory School, innovation in learning continues to evolve with the launch of a new Virtual Reality Lab designed to transform how students experience science.

As North Broward Preparatory School continues to invest in transformative learning experiences, we are excited to introduce a state of the art Virtual Reality (VR) Lab that will enhance teaching and learning across all divisions, beginning with Science and expanding into additional subject areas over time.

This exciting addition reflects our dedication to experiential learning, giving students opportunities to engage with concepts in ways that are simply not possible in a traditional classroom.

Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls

Powered by VictoryXR, the new VR Lab will allow students to step inside immersive learning environments where they can explore, experiment, and discover through hands on experiences. From examining the human body at a microscopic level to investigating ecosystems and analyzing crime scenes, students will engage with content in ways that make learning more meaningful, memorable, and impactful.

VictoryXR's platform includes science labs, simulations, anatomy experiences, chemistry experiments, and virtual field experiences designed to deepen student understanding through active participation.

Unlike traditional demonstrations or videos, virtual reality places students at the center of the learning experience. They can manipulate objects, test ideas, observe complex systems in action, and revisit simulations multiple times to strengthen understanding and build confidence. These immersive experiences support critical thinking, collaboration, and scientific inquiry while providing a safe environment for exploration.

Supporting Scientific Inquiry

The VR Lab aligns seamlessly with North Broward Prep's science instructional model, which follows the 5E framework:

  • Engage

  • Explore

  • Explain

  • Elaborate

  • Evaluate

Students move beyond passive observation and become active participants in their learning. Through virtual investigations, they collect data, record observations, analyze findings, and reflect on their discoveries, creating authentic evidence of both understanding and growth.

Whether students are conducting a chemistry experiment, exploring the structure of a cell, or examining geological processes, the focus remains on inquiry driven learning and real world application.

Connecting to the Advance Science Inquiry Pathway

The launch of the VR Lab comes at an exciting time as North Broward Prep introduces its newly approved Advance Science Inquiry Pathway (ASIP), an honors level pathway designed around scientific thinking, ethical reasoning, and meaningful application.

ASIP encourages students to move beyond learning scientific concepts and into the practice of science itself. Students are challenged to ask questions, investigate complex challenges, evaluate evidence, and apply their knowledge to real world situations.

The new VR Lab serves as an accessible entry point for scientific inquiry, giving students opportunities to engage with advanced concepts through immersive experiences. Whether exploring the human body, analyzing ecosystems, conducting virtual chemistry experiments, or investigating forensic evidence, students can interact with science in ways that deepen understanding and spark curiosity.

As ASIP launches and grows, the VR Lab will help support the pathway's focus on exploration, innovation, and critical thinking, empowering students to approach scientific challenges with both creativity and rigor.

Bringing Science to Life

Students will have opportunities to engage with a wide variety of experiences, including:

Biology and Anatomy

  • Exploring body systems and structures in three dimensions

  • Investigating diseases and injuries

  • Participating in anatomy simulations and dissection alternatives

Chemistry

  • Visualizing molecular bonding and chemical interactions

  • Conducting virtual titrations and reaction simulations

  • Exploring experiments that would otherwise be difficult to replicate in a classroom setting

Forensics and Earth Science

  • Analyzing virtual crime scenes through CSI investigations

  • Exploring ecosystems and environmental interactions

  • Examining plate tectonics and Earth systems from an immersive perspective

These experiences help students visualize abstract concepts, connect theory to practice, and deepen their understanding through exploration and discovery.

Preparing Students for What Is Next

The future of education is immersive, interactive, and connected to real world experiences. Through the new Virtual Reality Lab, North Broward Prep students will have opportunities to explore beyond the limits of a traditional classroom, bringing science, and eventually other disciplines, to life in entirely new ways.

As we continue to invest in innovative learning environments, we remain focused on our mission inspiring global citizens to create their future and live with purpose
