Many staff have commented on how quickly the children have settled back into routine and the children’s learning is well under way. Year 3 have started their ‘Active Planet’ topic with the children sharing their existing knowledge of volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes alongside other natural disasters. They have also generated some excellent questions to be answered throughout the topic and are looking forward to learning more about our unique planet Earth. As you can see from the photographs above, Year 4 have transformed their classrooms into amazing, colourful rainforests as their ‘Planeteers’ topic gets underway. Year 5’s learning will centre around the novel ‘The Butterfly Lion’ for the first few weeks of this term and Year 6 will start their term by focusing on their Science topic ‘Evolution and Inheritance’.

As always, we have a busy few weeks ahead of us before Chinese New Year with lots of learning which I know the children will approach with their usual energy and enthusiasm.
