This week the Year 3 and Year 4 Summer Palace group focussed on Chinese drama. The children were encouraged to perform a drama in Chinese according to the texts they’ve been learning. Year 4’s drama was called ‘The Legend of Bukit Merah’ (红山的传说) whilst Year 3 had ‘Father’s Day’ (藏起来的话).
In Year 2, we have discovered quite a few budding poets and artists from the Lama Temple group. The children first learned a famous Chinese poem ‘Spring Dawn’ (春晓), they then did a good job turning that poem into a picture!
Year 1 spent their time on Chinese strokes. Children from the Forbidden City and Tian’an Men groups really loved the ‘Gonfu Gary’ which helped them learn Chinese strokes. They also enjoyed playing some ‘Chinese Gongfu’ to show others what strokes they have learnt.
In Early Years, Nursery children started a new topic of colour this week and they had lots of fun playing games related to their colour topic.
