Nursing the Pets

Our topic in Nursery for the past few weeks has been 'All about Me' as part of the topic the children thought about pets.

They found out about different types of pets and shared their experiences with pets. One day the children were able to bring in their 'pet' to school, unfortunately our pets were all injured/sick and needed to see the vet. The children took on the role of being a vet and used different equipment to nurse their pet back to being healthy.

They developed their communication and language skills as they used a wide range of vocabulary to act out scenarios, they used words such as bandage, stethoscope, thermometer and medicine. Thankfully the children did such a great job that their pet has not had to visit the vet again!
