Year 6 STEAM trip at Shunyi

On Friday 20th January, Year 6 Eagles went to visit BSB Shunyi to take part in a range of STEAM activities with some of the secondary teachers.

The children took part in 4 very different STEAM activities which clearly showed how the skills in each are linked closely.

They worked alongside the other Shunyi Year 6’s to: apply the rules of the centre of gravity to build an airplane; built an LED torch; examine the importance of creativity in engineering to build a very different sort of aircraft and investigated the properties of methane gas and magnesium in the science lab.

It was a very exciting and educational experience and gave the Eagles a taste of what Year 7 might hold.
