SCRATCH is visual programming language and online community used by millions of children around the world. With SCRATCH, children can create their own interactive stories, games and animations, then share and discuss their creations with one another.
Already the children have a great deal of knowledge about how to use this type of programming and it has been the perfect opportunity for some student-led learning. The children have been given opportunities to demonstrate scripts to their classmates and then support them as they try to adapt it for themselves.
This work will also support our Global Campus Challenge this term as we program using Lego Mindstorm. The children are relishing the opportunity to share their ideas with others and it will be exciting to see the final games that they produce.
