Our Topic this term is ‘Magical Materials’ and the children were given the opportunity to explore and investigate a range of natural materials before using their creativity and imagination to make their very own sculptures.

The children used clay as their medium and added shells, dried flowers, pebbles and many other materials to create some beautiful pieces of art. The children made gardens, forests, play parks, faces and beaches and many more things.

The adults from UCCA were amazed by the resilience and fluent thinking skills demonstrated by our Year 1 children. They used their ‘Be Ambitious’ skills to work independently but also collaborated when sharing their ideas and discussing what they had made and how.

The Year 1 children had a wonderful day and illustrated their beautiful manners and respect to the lovely staff at UCCA by thanking them for all the fun and opportunities they provided them with in creating their own unique, special memory of the day.
