This event was a pilot event for NAE China Region schools.

It aimed to give students the opportunity to explore and discuss some of the important issues of the day with each other and to share thoughts and ideas around how to solve some of the more pressing global challenges facing us all. The children from BSB Sanlitun represented countries from all over the world and worked on a variety of committees with delegates from other Nord Anglia schools in China.

The topics under discussion included sustainable transport, childhood obesity and air pollution. Many of our students were active participants in debate sessions and were successful in getting their resolutions passed by committees.

This experience really allowed to children to develop their public speaking confidence, as well as their capability to think on their feet.  There was also a social development aspect to this trip, as our 16 delegates also  got to enjoy a Gala dinner and dance with the new friends that they had made during the committee work.
