As part of our Topic focus, we have been learning about different Christmas traditions and how people from different parts of the world celebrate this festival. Using our creative skills, we have been making our own Christmas cards for loved ones, thinking about how we can create different textures and combine materials. As part of this art project, we have been practising our cutting skills, ensuring we are using the equipment safely and with good control.
We have also been linking in our Maths learning with this festive theme, as we continue to learn the mathematical names for 3D shapes such as; cube, sphere, cuboid and cylinder. We really enjoyed matching the Christmas parcels to the correct 3D shapes. As a further challenge, we have started to describe the properties of these shapes using the vocabulary; faces, edges and vertices.
