Staff Profile: Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith

Deputy Head of Primary

I moved to Beijing in 2015, having taught in Dubai and the UK holding various roles such as Head of Maths, Head of Science and Head of Year. I enjoy helping children learn in a way which supports their creativity and internationalism. In my role as Assistant Head, I strive to help enable all pupils meet their full potential.

I have a degree in Primary Education and Science from The University of Surrey and have completed several Masters level modules with the Institute of Education, University of London.

Before deciding to teach abroad I was a teacher for 7 years in London. Many of the schools in which I worked have had a strong emphasis on a ‘creative curriculum’ and I am a firm believer in a ‘skills-based’ education which empowers children with abilities which will benefit them in later life.
