In the last month I received the welcome news that my application to the Nord Anglia Middle Leadership Programme had been successful. Starting in January, I will embark on the eighteen month course, which is designed to build a teacher’s skills and confidence to be a high quality middle leader.
The prospect of taking part in the programme is an exciting one. Not only will I work on developing my leadership habits, I will also have the opportunity to conduct an intensive ‘change project’ for a key focus within our school. The decision on what this area of focus will be shall be made in conjuction with Mr. Pearce and Mr. Burr to ensure that the work completed not only aids my growth as a leader, but also benefits the entire school into the future.
It will also allow me to communicate and share ideas with other middle leaders from our schools in North America. I have yet to meet a teacher who doesn’t like sitting down with another professional to discuss best practice within their school.
The course begins in January and while it will require a high level of work on my part, I am confident that the work I complete will have a beneficial impact across BISC-LP.
