Parent Update - 14 October 2014

14 October 2014

Dear Parents,

SCHOOL LUNCHES – MENU ATTACHED

Just a quick note to send you the School Lunch Menu for 27 October to 28 November. The whole kitchen is being upgraded over the Mid-Term Break so that we can offer hot and cold lunches as well as pastries and fruit.

If you would like to order from the School Cafeteria, please note that Year 1, 2 and 3 must order and pay in advance as we collect all their meals for them. Please make your selection and include the cheque – and you can return it to our Reception or via your child’s school bag. For years 4 to 7, the children can choose each day what they would like to eat and pay with their Octopus card. It’s a good idea to pin the school menu on the fridge at home so that you can see if you like the meal choices for the week ahead!

Of course, your child can still bring a snack and packed lunch if they prefer. Our school lunches are optional.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Please look out for your child’s ECA list in their bag or Pupil Planner tomorrow. We had an overwhelming response from all our pupils to our ECAs, so thank you for your patience while we’ve been trying to fairly give children as many of their choices as possible. In most cases, we’ve been able to offer at least two free activities a week.

If you have any questions about the ECAs, could you please email them to our Student Services Team (contactus@nais.hk" style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.5;">contactus@nais.hk) or you can always contact your child’s class teacher by email or via your child’s pupil planner book.

We will be sharing details of the Late Buses early next week. It has been a challenge for us – and other schools – as the later in the day that the buses leave, the more they get snarled up in the demonstrations on Hong Kong Island and Mongkok! But please rest assured that we are doing all we can, and will continue to update you.

HOUSE SPORTING COMPETITION

We have our first House Competitions tomorrow (Wednesday) for all pupils and staff! Please ask your child to wear their PE shorts and a t-shirt or something else (hair ribbon?) in their House colour (Sandringham = Yellow; Balmoral = Blue; Caernarfon = Green; Windsor = Red). We’ll be sharing photos of all their achievements and excitement later in the day.

And finally, we’ve uploaded the videos from the amazing singing performances from all our pupils during the Parent Welcome Evenings. Please click here to view.
