YEAR 4 PERFORMANCE - Eddie the Penguin Saves the World

Thank you to all our year 4 pupils and parents who joined together this morning to raise awareness of global warming by following – and singing about – Eddie and his fellow penguin pals travelling from London to the Amazon. Please enjoy these photos.

Our Years 6 and 7 have been preparing for an “Apprentice” style event next week, focusing on building ‘Young Entrepreneurs’. Four teams have been tasked with developing a business plan, designing and making a product (a healthy, fruit-based snack) and marketing it to the other children.

The four teams will be selling their snacks all next week (Monday to Friday) and we’d like to encourage all pupils to bring a little money with them (snacks will range from $5 to $20). All the proceeds from the Young Entrepreneur team efforts will go towards providing bedding for the school that the pupils will be visiting during their Residential Trip to the Getu Valley. The school they are visiting teaches – and often provides housing – for Primary school age children, many of whom don’t have parents of homes to go to.

Finally, our very own Alan Sugar/Donald Trump, aka Mr Cooklin, will be judging the most successful Young Entrepreneur Team effort.

REMINDER: MUSIC UPDATE – Private music lessons offered next year

From next year, we will be offering whole-class instrumental lessons as part of our music curriculum. We’re also bringing specialist instrument teachers into our school to offer private lessons. To get a clearer idea of which instruments you may be interested in, we would appreciate you completing this short questionnaire. Please click here.

We’ve had some fierce competition in the Inter-House Badminton Competition this week. Results to be announced next week.

REMINDER: FOOD DRIVE BY CAERNARVON HOUSE – Supporting www.feedinghongkong.org
Please support Caernarvon’s continued Food Drive project. We’re encouraging all our students to bring in a few non-perishable food products (dried food, rice, noodles, canned goods). Every little bit helps!

Have a lovely weekend.
