An Evening At The Museum

Our family was invited to attend an exhibit at the Ayala Museum on Fujian Ware in the Philippines. It showed Chinese artefacts and porcelain found in the Philippines from the Song Yuan period (11th -14th Century).

The event was formally opened by the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines, Ambassador Zhao Jianhua. The exhibit was very interesting. The artefacts were in excellent condition considering that some of them were hundreds of years old. It also showed the history of China-Philippines trade relations.

I was also fortunate to have a chance to converse with Chinese Ambassador Jianhua. It was my chance to testmyMandarin language skills. He asked me about myself and my school. I told him about The Kings School Manila and our Chinese lessons. The Ambassador was very happy at my efforts to speak in Mandarin.
