Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,

This newsletter piece comes at the end of a very eventful yet enjoyable year. Even the end of the final term has remained a busy one with Year 4’s trip to Kidzania, the Year 3 and 4 disco, class parties and a fund raising non-uniform day in aid of Horsing Riding For the Disabled to end it all off. The children have continued to be motivated, hardworking and a great pleasure to be around right until the end. I know they are tired and ready for a break!

Looking back over the year there have been many events this year, far too many to recount which we have all enjoyed and have great memories of. My personal favourite was  Book Week where the primary school came together in a celebration of William Shakespeare and their love of books, each class contributing something different to the experience.

I wish to publically thank the primary staff  who have worked tirelessly over the last three terms to make great learning happen, as well as contributing to and organising many fantastic events which have enriched the experience for the children. My sincere thanks go also to yourselves – the parents – for all the support given to the primary school over the year.

And so we must say a final farewell to families and staff who are moving on: safe travels to you all, stay in touch and come back to see us if you are passing. For those families returning to us in August, we are already looking forward to and making plans for the new year ahead. I hope our returning staff have a relaxing break and come back as motivated and as enthused about their work as they have been this year.

Wishing each and every one of you a restful  and well-deserved break.

Best regards,

Ms Kara Lebihan
Head of Primary School
