U9 Boys Football: Dover FC and Dover United Rolling to Victory

Both DCIS squads travel to away matches with stellar results

  • Dover United 2016
  • Dover FC 2016

Congratulations to both of the U9 Boys Football teams this week. Both squads played their fixtures away, with Dover FC at UWC Tampines Campus and Dover United at Tanglin Trust School.

Dover FC won two of their four matches scoring two goals and keeping a clean sheet throughout the tournament displaying strength in defence.  Goals came from Seia and George, with the boys displaying superbly accurate passing while finding space and capitalising on their opponent’s mistakes as they broke away and scored.

Throughout theses tight and evenly matched games, Dover FC showed grit and determination as they continued to battle until the sound of the final whistle.

With the first team being at Tanglin Trust International School,  Dover United was raring to go and it showed with a goal straight away from some fantastic football resulting in a free kick which Frankie boy smashed in! This was the theme throughout the tournament, with the children given set tasks by Mr Liperis to prevent strong opposition individuals from doing damage against us.

The children showed a defensive awareness for the first time and it allowed us to win three games and 1 draw.  The photo shows the effort the children had put in, how they'd left it all out on the pitch with a supreme effort by everyone.

Quote from Coach Liperis on the day….

“You did me proud today, you not only played great football but your defensive display was fantastic and we have really improved as team. Well done boys.”

Thank you to all the parents that came to support and cheer on the team!

Next matches will be held on Tuesday, 11th October here at Dover Court where both Dover FC and Dover United will get the opportunity to play one another.
