One of my Year 9s Jesse Tan brought in a silicone cast that he has made at home of a plastic heart which he borrowed from Science to support his artwork in class. He did this without being asked and completely independently. During the lesson we used the cast to pour liquid latex into the hole which he had left and we are currently waiting to see if it has worked. The boys are now redesigning their cast based on small mistakes that occurred when we poured the latex. I am overwhelmed by the ‘outside of the box’ thinking by this student. He has progressed massively since the beginning of the year. Well Done Jesse!
