Last Friday DCIS was visited by a celebrated group of "up and coming" jazz musicians from Chicago. Their leader and composer Roy McGrath agreed to visit our school as part of his tour of South-East Asia and China.

The students at DCIS had a group lesson with the band that included a short history of Jazz and the recognition and a close (very close) experience of each of the instruments of the quartet. Following the master class, Bill Cesna (Piano), Jonathan Wenzel (drums) and Kitt Lyles (bass), accompanied Mr. Roy McGrath in a tasteful lunch recital that took our children by surprise.

As a chain reaction, the children in the canteen started tapping their feet and clapping their hands to the catchy sounds of swing jazz.
