Secondary Students Prepping for Global Campus Worldwide Expeditions

Several secondary students are busy this term with their preparations for their upcoming Global Campus trips. We have students traveling to both Switzerland and New York City within the next couple of weeks.
Indira and Sameeksha from Year 10 are grasping the opportunity to take part in a UNICEF Global Summit. They will be creating videos to send to UN representatives explaining how Nord Anglia and Dover Court are tackling the UN Global Goals. These presentations will explain how we as a school responded to the Global Challenge regarding Zero Hunger and Good Health and Well-being. Congratulations to Indira who was selected to present at the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) outlining her own ideas on how UNICEF and Nord Anglia can work together towards the Global Goals in the future.
But it won’t be all work and no play while they are there! The students will have time to explore all that New York City has to offer such as a Broadway play, Times Square and a few museums. They are both looking forward to this international experience. Until then, the girls will be diligently preparing for their UNICEF debut.
Another group pf students are well underway in their final preparations for their alpine excursion to Les Martinets, Switzerland. They have had their bags and equipment checked and completed their route plans for hikes on the trip, learning some valuable landscape reading skills.
Students have worked hard for this expedition through their weekly training sessions. They also completed a 6km hike in the glorious Singapore weather before the half term break, with added ‘stair challenges’; they have also been climbing over 40 flights of stairs during their early morning sessions. Excitement is building with the students for the trip this week as we depart on Saturday, 10th June. Keep an eye on the school website and social media for daily updates of our adventures while we are there!
