On Thursday 7th June, DCIS was privileged to host Juilliard alumnus Mr. Andrew Wangemann. A number of Primary and Secondary School classes were able to attend Andrew’s educational music performance, seeing and hearing close-up what it is to be a professional musician – in Andrew’s case, a jazz drummer and composer.

Students enjoyed asking questions about the drums and how they can be played, and made helpful connections to their music learning in class. Andrew also ran a Year 7 jazz rhythms workshop as well as a workshop for our student rock bands. We look forward to more visits from Juilliard alumni in the next school year.
