Final Preparations for UNICEF Summit

Our DCIS UN representatives have finalised their video presentations as they prepare for their trip to New York

  • Final Preparations for UNICEF Summit

Sameeksha and Indira are making their final preparations for their UNICEF summit, having met with Ms McKernan to learn more about what to expect at an Model United Nations (MUN) conference. Mr Short has also met with the students to wish them well on the opportunity that lies ahead. The girls are off on 12th July but there is still much to do!

Their videos as Singapore’s UN representatives have been finalised (viewable soon on our YouTube channel!) and in addition to their research into their representative countries, they are still working on their individual preparations. Sameeksha has been selected as a part of the student media team while in New York. She will be sending updates all week long on various social media sites. Don’t forget to look out for #NAEUNICEF!

Indira has been chosen as one of eight students to represent Nord Anglia in front of the UN delegates. She is collaborating with the other student presenters to speak about the actions Nord Anglia is taking to support the UN Global Goals. This is the first time these students have been invited to speak at a UN conference, which is a very exciting opportunity for Indira.

Indira on what she is looking forward to:

“What I am looking forward to most is being given the chance to do something to work towards solving the global goals by presenting at the Side Meeting and taking part in the MUN and discussing global affairs. I am also looking forward to meeting new people. I feel really passionate about sustainable development and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
