Q: Hi Beau, you are one of our Year 8 students, tell us what you are doing on Sunday.
A: Hi! I'm having a haircut on Sunday. Not just a trim, but I am going to cut my hair short and donate it to Little Princess Trust. It is a British charity that makes wigs from real hair and donates them to children who have lost their hair during cancer treatment.
Q: Why did you decide to do this?
A: Unfortunately I have both family and friends, old and young battling cancer and I want to do what I can to support.
Q: Tell us more about your fundraising.
A: I have been thinking about this for a long time. Your hair needs to be at least six inches before you can donate it, so I've not had a haircut for quite some time. You also have to raise some money, that goes to the charity. My target was $250 and I am extremely proud that I have managed to raise more than four times as much!
A: How do you think that you will feel on Monday?
Q: It will be different having shorter hair, but I am looking forward to the haircut, not so much because of the actual haircut, but because I know that the hair will make someone feel a little better.
