TX PE Activities - Swimming and Basketball

16 October 2015

Last Saturday 31 students from TX travelled to AP1 campus to compete in the BIS Invitational Swimming Gala. It was a fantastic day with students working and swimming very hard, and also being very sensible during long waits between races.

There were good performances from a lot of pupils including Bao Van Phan and Duy Anh Mai. Our relay teams were in great form with our under 11 and under 8 relay teams securing bronze medal positions in their medley and freestyle races. The under 8 girls relay team of Naomi, Pucca, Bao Van and Quynh Anh went two better by winning both of their relays to bring home two gold medals.

We had 3 individual podium finishes for the overall competition two. Fantastic performances from Yegor and Quynh Anh who finish 3rd and 2nd respectively in the under 9 competition. The best result of the day was earned by Andrew who finished the day as overall winner of the Under 11 boys event.

All of the TX campus performed marvellously and the team finished 3rd in the overall team event. Well done to everyone who took part and to the many parents who gave up their time to come and support. For more detailed results please visit the TX PE blog.

Interhouse Competition

All students in Years 4,5 and 6 competed in the first interhouse tournaments of the year this week. We will host interhouse competitions at the end of each half term, in the sport students have been learning.

This half term it was basketball. Dalat completed a clean sweep by winning in every year group. The most exciting finish was undoubtedly in Year 6, which went to a sudden death free throw shoot-out between Dalat and Hanoi. Jack from Dalat held his nerve to score the winning shot. All students worked hard for their house and thoroughly enjoyed the competition.

Well done to all.
