At BIS we pride ourselves on offering a huge range of extra curricular activities to our students. One of the more unusual ones is Taekwon-Do!
During the first term of the Taekwon-Do Little Tigers class students had chance to learn basic of the Taekwon-Do blocking, punching and kicking using mitts.
They also learned the psychological aspect of Taekwon-Do training and how practising martial arts can help in everyday life. We talked about self-control, courtesy, perseverance and integrity. Students have also learned the basics of self defence and the importance of training and how it impacts health.
The first terms ends with the belt test, during which students get to present what they have learned and receive belt level upgrade.
During the next term we will learn more advanced jumping kicks as well as more self defence situations. Most of the students are very much looking forward to sparring drills where we will train with partners wearing protective gloves and shoes.
