Senior Boys Basketball: What a Start...

18 December 2015

It has been a phenomenal start to the season for our Senior Boys Basketball Team, here is a summary of the four boys games so far...

The Senior Boys Basketball team went undefeated last year and won the school their first senior basketball championship ever. So, expectations were understandably high. This year’s team played their first SEASAC game of the season today. The boys worked well as a team, and slowly but surely, stepped up their game as the match went on. The final score was 46-29 to BIS and was a great start to the season by keeping the undefeated streak alive!

The second game of the season was on this afternoon against SSIS. The student, parent, and staff support was outstanding and played a huge part in the boys’ big win. It was an amazing atmosphere to play in having all of our friends, teachers and families cheering us on. The game started off close, but in the second half the BIS boys took off with a surge of energy and went on a 28-2 scoring run. The final score was 66-40, keeping the undefeated streak alive!

Today was the third game of the SEASAC season for the Senior Boys Basketball team. Another great crowd turnout played a massive factor in the positive result for the BIS boys. The boys started off slower than usual going down 9-0 in the first few minutes. However, with the support of the spectators the lads snapped out of it and regained complete control of the match. The final score was 68-44 in favour of BIS, keeping the undefeated streak alive!

This afternoon to close the term the boys squared off against AIS in their fourth game of the season. From the first whistle the lads were fired up, and got off to a great start with a fast lead that didn’t stop growing. Regardless of it being the second last day of Term 1, the crowd support and turnout was one of the best yet with so many seats filled with loud and proud students, parents and staff. Again, with the crowds backing the BIS boys continue to add to the scoreboard and finished the game with a 57-30 victory, keeping the undefeated streak alive.

The next game of the season is away at ISHCMC at the beginning of Term 2, and the SEASAC Tournament is on the 19th of January. Hopefully, after the break, the BIS lads will continue to defeat, dazzle and defend their undefeated streak and championship title.

It’s not over yet, but a huge thanks goes to our coaches, the PE staff, the student scorers, and of course the supporters for the roles they have played this season.

We wish you all a safe holiday, and a very Merry Christmas!
