Year 12 Chiang Mai Trip

12 February 2015

The Year 12 international award group showed fantastic effort and commitment to complete a challenging expedition Chiang Mai province in Northern Thailand.

Day one was spent working on a community project at a local primary school.

The group learned to mix concrete and lay the foundations of a new play area.

Then came the main objective of the trip, the four day expedition to reach the top of Doi Pha Hom Phok, the second highest mountain in Thailand with an altitude of 2285 metres.

We trekked through a cave, across streams, up steep climbs and through forests to reach the summit at lunch time on the third day.

Carrying all their own camping equipment and supplies meant that good teamwork was crucial to the students’ success, and the spectacular views from the summit made their efforts well worth it!
