Last week I had the pleasure of being able to take 9 of our students to Manila to attend the FOBISIA Drama festival at
The British International School Manila.
The students were given the amazing opportunity of working with the internationally renowned theatre company ‘
Frantic Assembly
’ as well as working on a range of skills and theatre aspects within teacher led workshops.
Frantic Assembly said of the experience:
"Last week we were working at the British School Manila in the Philippines where we were part of the FOBISIA (Federation Of British International Schools In Asia) festival where 9 schools from places like Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam all came together to learn new drama techniques. It was inspiring to see so many different young people mixing and making new friends and really throwing themselves into the work."
The festival culminated in a stunning group performance including all of the 100+ students who were in attendance. Several of our students took solo roles within the ensemble piece which is a testament to their skills and maturity.
The week was exhausting, entertaining and rewarding for all involved, I am already looking forward to next year’s festival in Brunei.
