On Monday morning, the Year 4 children arrived at school wearing their sunshine yellow trip t-shirts, all packed and ready to head to Long Hai for their residential trip. There were some worried faces as we jumped onto the bus, but most of these belonged to the nervous parents waving off their little ones.
We had an action packed few days at the beach. Not only did the children get to play, explore and have fun but they also learnt many vital life skills. Both Mr Mike and myself were really impressed by how much the children learned in such a short time, such as organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Moreover, the children in Year 4 were polite, helpful and respectful to all staff members including Ms Van Anh and Ms Tam who joined us on the trip. In fact we would like to say a huge thank you to our Teaching Assistants for their tireless hard work and enthusiasm during the trip.
We returned to TX on Wednesday afternoon, with happy hearts. Everyone had enjoyed the trip, but were very happy to see their parents again. I think all the children on the trip learnt new skills and became a little more independent and mature during their time at Long Hai.
Last week we had a celebration assembly to share our experiences with the rest of the school and parents. We gave out special awards for sandcastle building to Benz, Daniel and Justin. The tidiest room awards went to Bin and Bennie and Soo A, Yun Seo and Minh Anh. We also awarded children who showed outstanding attributes which reflected our Masters of Learning animals. In 4X Ken won the award for caring, Tri won the award for integrity, Tu Tu for reflection and Mina for her perseverance. In 4T Daniel won the award for enquiry, Nghia won the award for respect, Yui for being a global citizen and David won the learning together award.
We would like to congratulate all the children in Year 4 for their positivity and perseverance on the Long Hai trip.
Ms Emma, Year 4 Teacher and MP2 Leader.
