I would like to welcome back all our families to TX for Term 3. Despite this term being shorter in length, we have so many events planned: swimming galas, MP1 production, Year 6 trip to Gopeng and our summer concert to name but a few!
Congratulations to our children who graduated and received the Master of Learning certificates for Respect and Perseverance in this morning’s assembly. In order to be given the award, children must have shown that they have the qualities that we should all aspire to in order to become outstanding learners. Here are some of our ‘I can’ statements for Resect and Perseverance:
I can look after others the way I would like to be treated myself
I can use good manners when talking to adults and children
I value all members of the community
I can listen to others’ ideas and opinions
I know which stuck strategies to use
I am consistently focused in school
I have a positive attitude to challenging learning
I have no limits on my learning
This term we will focus on Integrity and Reflection.
Over the next two weeks, your child will be formally assessed in the following subjects: English, maths and science. These test results will be analysed along with our on-going assessments in order to establish your child’s level and progress made. Written reports will be sent to all parents on 12th June however, if you would like any further details about the assessments, being carried out in your child’s class, please contact your child’s class teacher.
Last night, I was lucky enough to watch our very talented primary musicians as the twelve finalists from TX and AP1 competed in the annual Young Musician of the Year competition. Congratulation to Hieu, Yu Gyeong, Minh Anh, Theresa and Andrew who gave superb performances! Andrew was awarded third place for his solo performance on the saxophone.
I look forward to supporting our TX swim squad as they compete over the weekend at ISHCMC. More details will appear in next week’s newsletter.
