Year 1 Explore Asia Countries in International Week

21 January 2016

What fun we have had in Year 1 over the last two weeks!

Each class in year 1 has been learning about the culture, geography and way of life for adults and children in a country in Asia. 1B have explored Myanmar, 1I learned about India, 1S china and 1V discovered more about Vietnam.

The children have shared experiences, learned facts, formed questions, dressed up, painted, acted out, made models and had wonderful experiences. The fun hasn’t stopped. It has also been a fabulous opportunity to work with other classes and year groups. The children have learned and further developed a great many skills such as cooperation, tolerance, teamwork, empathy to name a few.

The teachers and children of Year 1 would all like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped and supported teachers by providing resources, reading stories or in many other ways including of course, the Global Café.

Do please check class blogs for more details of your child’s activities and preparation. Take the opportunity to talk to the children about their countries and see what else they can find out. Don’t forget to complete the International section of the BISCAT pages in the diaries.
