Senior Girls Football off to a flyer

26 January 2016

The first senior football fixture of the season was an away trip to ABCIS.

Many of our more experienced players were unable to make the trip due to mock exams so we were without our Year 11 and Year 13 players. Thankfully our junior girls have a vast pool of talent and were able to lend the senior team four Year 9 girls to play. A special thanks to Rose Mincher, Georgia Smith, Caitlyn Brownrigg and Fieke Evers for making their senior squad debut.

Anna Huynh captained the team and from the very first whistle it was clear that the BIS girls were hungry for possession. BIS raced into a four goal lead with ABCIS only managing to pull one back before half time.

The second half followed much the same as the first, with BIS scoring four more times and ABCIS adding another solitary goal. The final score BIS 8 – ABCIS 2. Three goals came from the Year 9 players, Caitlyn (1) and Georgia (2) but the player of the match was Lhasa with a stunning five goals and a hat-trick from set plays.

A great start to the season, especially when we have so many talented players to welcome back.
