The 2016 Ladies’ National Amateur Golfer Championship (VLAC 2016) marked an impressive victory for the 17 year-old winner – Ms. Hanako Kawasaki with an outstanding achievement of 145 shots (one bogey / stroke over par) after 2 days’ of competition (29th – 30th October) at FLC Sam Son Beach & Golf Luxury Resort in Thanh Hoa Province.

Hanako Kawasaki also broke the tournament record for the lowest total score in the last four years of the tournament.

The first runner-up was Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung with 159 shots (+15 over par), followed by Ms. Ngo Ngoc Nhi (VLAC 2013’s winner, VLAC 2015’s second runner-up) with 160 shots (+16 over par).

Hanako’s victory was a convincing one as she continued to prove herself as one of the best young golfers in Vietnam. With athletic prowess, professionalism and a strong drive to win, Hanako was unbeatable at this year’s tournament.

Hanako’s achievements didn’t stop at the individual prize as she also contributed to the overall performance of SGGA Team (Saigon Golf Association). SGGA also claimed 1st place, followed by Binh Duong Team and Hanoi Team.

VLAC 2016 is one of the four major golf tournaments held by Vietnam Golf Association to create a professional playing field for female golfers and also offer them a great opportunity to interact, connect and learn from each other. This year's tournament attracted 92 golfers (the youngest competitor aged 13) from various cities and provinces in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai etc.

Congratulations Hanako, we look forward to seeing how your golfing career progresses.
