Mr Simon Higham – Weekly Update: 26/02/16

26 February 2016

Dear Parents

How time flies when great learning opportunities are created. This week at An Phu Primary Campus, children from across all age groups have been working together for our Nord Anglia Education, Global Challenge. Launched in assembly last week, the children have been tasked to design, make and video a machine inspired by Rube Goldberg. There has been some great thinking and creative ideas put forward - the next step is the making! Thank you to all parents who have also attended these early morning sessions and I am sure, that by being ambitious, the BIS machine will be a great success.

Be Ambitious

Thank you to all parents who attended our Headteacher's Coffee Morning this week. It was a pleasure to be able to share the vision for An Phu Primary Campus and also allow parents an opportunity to experience and sample food from the Canteen. Some of the feedback from this session is included below:

  • The quality of the food was very good and I now know that my child has both choice and nutrition in their lunch at school.

  • It was a privilege to be able to visit the cafeteria and experience first hand the provision of school lunches.

  • I will now be able to reinforce to my child that there is a wide selection of fresh food available (in the Canteen) and to chat with my child about the experience.

  • It is great to know that the variety of flavoured waters on offer to all children at break time, contain no sugar.

Headteacher’s Coffee Morning

If you have any suggestions for our next Headteacher's Coffee Morning on Wednesday 18th May, please do not hesitate to email me directly - simonhigham@bisvietnam.com

Next week, I would like to wish our FOBISIA maths team all the very best as they travel to compete in the tournament that is held this year at the British International School, Guangzhou, in China. Go for it!

Finally, I would like to thank all of our community for the support that we have been given regarding the traffic congestion outside school at peak times. Your cooperation and determination to make a difference has been very much appreciated. Please keep educating your drivers and ask yourself the question - 'would I do this in my own country?'
