Tet Celebrations at An Phu Primary 05 February 2016 The Lunar New Year is the most important festival of Vietnamese people... ...It is the time when everyone goes back to their home town for a family reunion in order to pay respects to their ancestors. To celebrate this big event , An Phu Primary campus organised a Tet Fair on Thursday morning. The theme “Tet in the Central Highlands” brought the children a picture of how minority groups celebrate Tet. The children played some traditional musical instruments, visited the stilt house and danced to traditional music in the background. The fair also included Tet games, handicraft activities and special food for the children to taste. On Friday, Tet Assembly focused on Vietnamese people who have lived overseas and who have came back home to celebrate Tet with their families. They helped to clean up and decorate the house for Tet with flowers and fruits. One of the most famous decorations is the five-fruit tray. Each fruit placed on the tray has its own unique taste, with each one symbolising a lucky wish for each family. Vietnamese people, wherever they are, always follow this tradition to remind them of their ancestors and their origins. Thank you to all parents for coming along and celebrating with our children today. At BIS, we all wish you happiness and prosperity in 2016. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!
