FOBISIA Primary Performing Arts Carnival
Last weekend BIS hosted 230 children from 16 schools across SE Asia for the 2016 FOBISIA Primary Performing Arts Carnival. 21 children from BIS took part including 6 from TX.
The focus of the weekend was on creating music together but there were also many opportunities to make new friends from other schools and countries. As well as trips to Vietopia and the cinema to see Kung Fu Panda 3, each school performed in FOBISIA’s Got Talent where we were treated to a variety of performances from classical to pop and even some synchronised swimming! There was also time to enjoy a variety of workshops including conical hat painting, bamboo stick dancing, Vietnamese drumming, Latin dance and many more.
The children worked incredibly hard in rehearsals refining their choir and orchestral pieces to a high standard, working with inspirational music teachers, in preparation for the gala concert.
The concert itself, with music from shows and musicals, was truly amazing and everyone performed fantastically well. It was hard to believe primary children could put on such a show. After the concert everyone was able to let off some steam with a well-deserved celebration dinner and disco at the Novotel before saying farewell to new friends.
So this year’s FOBISIA carnival is over but the memories and friendships will be with us for many years to come.
