What a week it has been at An Phu Primary, with a focus upon the enrichment of learning across the curriculum. On Tuesday, the final visiting school departed HCMC following a very successful Primary Performing Arts Carnival that was organised and hosted by An Phu Primary. Full details of the 4 day extravaganza can be read in the post below by event coordinator, Ms Beth Bown, however, I do want to share with you all a few words of feedback from the Chairperson of FOBISIA, Mr Gary Benfield:
'As well as being so enjoyable this afternoons concert was also inspirational. I literally found myself pinching myself after each of the pieces and reminding myself that I was listening to a group of PRIMARY musicians. The quality of what you and all your colleagues have led from the pupils would happily have graced any whole school stage in any of the FOBISIA schools. Thank you for making what has clearly been a wonderful carnival possible for all that have been involved'. Well done to everyone that took part.
Here is an overview of the event for you to be inspired by:
HCMC Gymnastics Competition
Well done also to all of our gymnasts that took part in the HCMC Gymnastics competition that took place over at AP2 on Thursday. Look out for more details regarding final results and photographs on the BIS HUB next week.
Following the letter that was sent to all parents on Monday, I would like to remind you that from Monday 28th March until Wednesday 30th March, the British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection team will be visiting all 3 campuses across BIS. Details of the outcome from this inspection will be shared with all parents when they become available to the school.
Pick up and Drop off
I would like to remind all parents about the importance of adhering to drop off and pick up times. Children should be dropped off at school from 7.30am when supervision is in place. If children are dropped off at school before this time, it is expected that they are adequately supervised by an adult. Similarly, all children should be picked up from school at 2.30pm, unless they have a club or activity. The safety of all of our children is our utmost priority as we need to ensure that all children can be accounted for both before and after school in the event of an emergency. Thank you for your continued support in this matter.
Extra Curricular Clubs
This week, is the final week of our Term 2 Extra Curricular Clubs programme. Please note that the Term 3 Club Booklet will be ready to view on-line from Friday 1st April and the Term 3 sign up via CHQ will begin on Monday 4th April and end on Friday 8th April.
Parent Meetings (Academic) - Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th April (3.00pm - 5.30pm)
Thank you to all parents who have signed up for the forthcoming parent meetings on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th April. I have been pleased to read through the many comments that you have found the sign up system both easy and efficient to use. If you have not yet booked times to visit your child's class teacher and specialist teachers, we have now extended the sign up period until Monday 25th March at 4.00pm.
Certificates of Excellence
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word 'excellence' means 'the quality of being outstanding or extremely good'. Throughout the year, teachers are constantly identifying children's work, attitude to learning and efforts that constitute being 'excellent'. The prestigious Certificate of Excellence is awarded and celebrated in our whole school assembly. I am pleased to share that this month, the following children have shown excellence across a wide variety of academic and non academic areas:
Katie Nguyen – 1V, Teo Kim – 2B, Caitlin Tan – 2B, Duc Anh Tran – 2B, Isaac Workman – 2B, Long Ngo – 2B, Tuong Vy Phan – 3N, Minh Thu Do – 3N, Ryan Nguyen – 3N, Ivy Tan – 3N, Jisue Yoon – 3N, Long Ngo – 2B, Julia Hassink – 6H and Louise Humbert – 6H.
Well done and keep working hard to 'be ambitious' in your future learning.
