Victory at the Cricket

01 April 2016

On Thursday the 10th of March, BIS HCMC played a 10 overs a side cricket match against ABCIS.

We took a bus to ABC and started to warm up the moment we arrived. Before the start of the match our captain Atharva, went to take the toss. BIS won the toss and elected to bat first. Keminda and Atharva opened the batting and unfortunately after scoring 4 runs, Atharva had to depart after being caught. Raafay came in next and this time after some confusing communication he had to go for a run out. Rahul, Max , Ashyle and Dan were the next 4 batsmen and all were caught out, luckily Ashyle hit a few boundaries to lift the score.

Keminda stayed in and played a brilliant innings, having to retire due to his amount of runs. Jamie our wicket keeper came in next and unfortunately got stumped on a very close decision. Basile then came in and hit a lovely shot to get a double but was then caught out. Rohan came in and finished the innings. BIS scored 54 runs in 10 overs.

Raafay started the bowling attack not picking up any wickets but keeping the runs down. Next Dan came to bowl and brought some pace into the attack helping to apply lots of pressure to the ABC batsmen. Atharva came in next bringing his spinning skills to help with the wickets and picking up a lovely LBW.

Rohan bowled next and picked up the crucial wicket off Vansh. Later on Rohan unfortunately injured his back in a fielding collision with Ashyle and was unable to play for the rest of the game. Ashyle replaced Rohan’s bowling spell and bowled a very economical over including a excellent LBW. ABC needed 14 in the last over and Rahul bowled it, getting a wicket and not allowing ABC to get the runs required, leaving ABC bowled out for 44.

A well earned victory for the BIS Cricket Team!
