Our Wonderful Parent Community

Dear Parents,

It really has been wonderful to see how more and more members of our parent community have got involved in school life this year.  On Tuesday afternoon, we welcomed parents of children in EYFS as we discussed their transition for August 2016.  This was followed by an opportunity to visit the classrooms to see what the children have been up to.  If you were unable to attend this meeting, you should now have received a folder with important information about the staggered start for your child in August.  If you have any questions about this, please contact your child’s class teacher or Ms Hayley, our EYFS leader.

Our open afternoon on Thursday provided parents with an opportunity to come into class to see examples of their children’s work, and to meet their child’s new teacher.  This event proved very popular; it is another way to build stronger relationships between home and school, which we know can only be good for the children’s learning.

Parents’ Corner

potluck lunch 1

I would like to thank those members of the parents group who organised the delicious pot-luck lunch on Thursday. Again it was so great to see so many parents coming along to build stronger relationships in the TX community.  For more information about this event and other ideas about how to keep your children entertained during the upcoming holiday, please click on the link below:

There are a few other dates and events coming up that you need to be aware of:

Transition Day – on Tuesday morning after register, children will be going to visit the class of the teacher who will be teaching them in August.  This is for children only.

Y6 Leavers Assembly – Thursday at 8.15am.  This is a fun assembly planned and organised by the members of Year 6.  Everyone is welcome to attend this student-led assembly.

2015-2016 Final Assembly – Again parents are welcome as we conclude the school year with our final celebrations and farewell wishes to those who will be leaving us for secondary school or another country.

End of Term – Term 3 finishes at 11.30am next Friday 24th June.  Please remember to collect your children on time.

Uniform Shop – An early notice to inform those of you who will be returning that you will be able to pick up your child’s new uniform from Ms Dat in the resources room, any time from Monday 8th August.

MP3 Speech Competition

Our final speech competition of the year took place on Tuesday evening.  The standard of public speaking at TX is so high and the children really rise to this marvellous occasion.  Congratulations to the winners!

F1’s End of Year Trip to ‘Playtime’

There were some very excited children in F1 earlier this week, and that was just getting on the bus!  They had a wonderful time exploring ‘Playtime’ in their end of year trip.  There are some lovely photos and more information here:

TX Olympic Week

TX Olympic week-Y3-2

All week, children from F3 to Year 4 have been taking part in TX’s very own Olympics.  Looking forward to the real Olympics in Rio in August, the children competed in their houses in a number of sports, some of which they had never played before.  Mr Ali’s post is here:

Milepost 3 and the ‘Chalice of Doom’

Chalice of Doom

The children in Milepost 3 listened attentively on Thursday morning as I explained why the school was in grave danger.  The magical ‘Chalice of Doom’, that had been discovered when TX was being built, had gone missing and if it was not recovered soon, it may unleash everybody’s fears.  To see if the children managed to save the school, click here:
