Year 9 – ‘Shoestring Science’

17 June 2016

Over the past few weeks our Year 9s have been planning a Science lesson for younger children with a catch...

...all the resources must cost less than 120,000 VND.

This week, the Year 5s from APP were invited to be taught these lessons.

It is often said “if you can’t explain an idea to a six year old, you don’t understand it” and teaching others is an excellent way of developing understanding.  Our students have developed their leadership, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills while sharing their love of Science.

There was a fantastic variety of activities, from dry ice bubbles and the science of thunderstorms to the physics of dominoes. It was great to see the excitement they developed in the Year 5 students, many of whom said they will try out the experiments at home.
