Parents’ Corner – 13/1/17

13 January 2017

Parents reunited on Wednesday for the first morning coffee of 2017. After greeting our newcomers to the group and drinking a nice cup of tea or coffee, it was time to start working on the upcoming school fête, 2nd edition. Everyone was fully energized and ready to get back on task.

School fête preparation and update

The aim of the fête is to bring TX families and friends of TX together to share a nice day.  It is also a fund raising event for our school partners and has so far been the biggest event that the TX Parent Group has hosted. This year the group would like to bring in new features such as, inviting and sponsoring children from our community partners so that they can also join the fête and enjoy the time together. The group planned a first draft of the program, a list of activities, and is currently looking for ideas to entertain our Y5 and Y6 children. Last year, this age group did not find enough age related activities for them. The next school fête planning meeting is this Tuesday 17th January, in the canteen starting at 8am until 9.15am. Please do join the group and bring your ideas; we are always open to everyone joining. The plan is to start looking for sponsors, but also to make a final list of food, games, crafts and dividing the teams to work specifically on one topic. We hope to see you there!

Parent lunch

On Wednesday 18th January, don’t miss the pre-Têt lunch at Đậu Homemade. Come and have a break from the preparation of Têt, relax with other parents and enjoy a water puppet show. You will find all details and the registration: CLICK HERE

Têt gift for support staff

After a vote, some of the Parent Group fund will be used for Tet gifts for the support staff who are doing an amazing job with our children. However, as some parents wish to make it even better, if you would like to make an additional donation, please look out for our Y2 class rep and their red box.  Alternatively, you can contact your own class rep to make a contribution, if you wish. This is, of course, not compulsory. Please keep January 20th free on your calendar, as we’ll need as many parents as possible to give the gifts to the staff on that day (at 8am). Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend, see you on Tuesday.
