Both of our ‘Parade of Nations’ for International Week 2017 were truly special. We had 9 countries performing across the 2 parades and over 40 nationalities represented with the children proudly marching under their flags.
Our superb MP2 and MP3 choir kicked off proceedings for both parades and different countries danced in each. EYFS and MP1 took the stage first and India were the first country to dance with a lively performance. Then followed our youngest students from F1 and F2 before a pause with a fabulous dance from the Philippines before our F3 students marched with their teachers.
4 girls from Ukraine did a super traditional dance before our MP1 children marched under their country flags. We paused again got a final time half way through to allow France to entertain us with their energetic Charleston dance.
In our MP2 and 3 Parade, a record 5 countries performed with a mix of absolutely wonderful traditional and modern dances and performances from Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Ibeiro America (representing the Spanish speaking nations) and Korea.
Our eldest students gave us some fantastic facts about the countries around the world. For example, did you know that The Netherlands boasts the tallest men in the world? We also learned that Japan is made up of 6852 islands although less than 500 are inhabited as well as many other amazing facts.
Huge thank to all involved in making our parades so special. The Unity of BIS HCMC shone through.
