Parents’ Corner – 03/11/17

03 November 2017

Six weeks, only six weeks before saying “Goodbye” to TX and “Hello” to the new campus. Those six weeks will be full of activities for parents to be involved in. The clock started to tick and parents are already working behind the scenes, but there is always still time to join in.

The next meeting for the TX party will be on Wednesday 8th of November at 1pm in the MPR room. Please feel free to join as extra help and ideas are always welcomed.

During the break, parents have been working on the project. Suppliers offering activities such as face painting and a photo booth have been found and the booking has been secured. Class reps have started to collect the class funds which will also be used for the party and each child will receive a souvenir in return.

Teachers have been introducing “TX has got Talent” to the children and auditions will start soon. The process will be over by 24th  November and 5 finalists will be chosen from Milepost 1, 2 and 3.

The overall theme of the party is: “I’m a TX success”.

More updates coming in next week’s newsletter but until then, please make your donation to the party through your Class Rep to receive your child’s TX souvenir!

Choir Update

The second rehearsal took place this Friday morning. The first one before the break was a very good one with the opportunity to discover the selection of songs.

International Week

Ms Duyen and Ms Dan, along with Ms Mary, went to APP to attend the first meeting regarding the upcoming International week. This event is one of the most anticipated from children and parents but this year it will be even more special as it will be the first on the EYFS and Infant campus. Parents and teachers have exchanged ideas and started to plan the new international week format.

APP Group Visit for TX Parents

We are one school, however not all of our parents are familiar with APP or APS campus. On Wednesday at the Headteachers’ coffee morning, Mr Simon and Ms Dee expressed that they were very willing to show parents around APP and have confirmed a visit for Monday 27th November at 9am. This visit will be for all parents, not only those who will have a child at the Junior campus. Even if your child will join the EYFS campus, this is a good opportunity to visit the Junior one.

The Parent Group also kindly requested to visit the EYFS and Infant campus as soon as it will be possible. Everyone being very excited to discover BIS’s “new baby”.

PDV Update

On Tuesday, Ms Clover informed the Parent Group of the bad floods that PDV’s facilities experienced last month. Unfortunately for two days, the school was flooded. They were forced to close the school to children. They managed to save most of their equipment however there is some damage as you will see in the pictures. We are waiting for an update on PDV’s next steps as we are committed to follow up after the handover of the playground.

#ThrowbackTX: your best memories 2015 A spooky evening for TX

Parent 3.11.17(2)

This week, many countries celebrated Halloween on October 31st.  As BIS is an international school with students from many different nationalities, there is always a way to discover and get to know more about the traditions around the world. Two years ago, TX parents organised a Halloween party. Scary food, games, and even a piñata were on the program so children could experience this tradition and get to know more about its origin.  You can see all pictures here:

Have a nice weekend,

Anne on behalf of the Parent Group
