Our APP Mile Post 1 and Foundation Stage productions during the week have been absolutely stunning; well organised and with outstanding student performances. Congratulations to all our students and the staff involved in producing such polished and entertaining productions. Each production was attended by large numbers of appreciative parents, relatives and family friends.
Last night (Thursday), I attended the whole school seasonal spectacular production, ‘Underneath the Christmas Tree’ held at the Ben Thanh Theatre. Every seat was occupied meaning we had an audience of over 800 people made up of various members of the BIS community. We were treated to an amazing array of musical performances involving students from all three campuses. There was a chamber orchestra along with a full orchestra providing a full range of music and various choirs giving a huge variety of Christmas music. Of course, it was a very special occasion for the TX students and staff as it was their last opportunity to be involved as a campus under the TX name. They put on an excellent performance – a very fitting goodbye for a campus that has contributed so much to the development of BIS HCMC.
Congratulations to all our wonderful students for outstanding performances and to the BIS community for supporting such an amazing event. A particular thank you to the BIS Music department led by Mr Ian Alexander and supported by Ms Smith, Ms Husband, Ms Beth, Ms Fran, Ms Amy, Mr Jon, Ms Rebecca and Ms Keziah who did an amazing job of coordinating such a superb event for us all to enjoy. A big thanks also goes to our great team of support staff who ensured that we had all that we needed at the theatre. Their help is invaluable.
Sport has also been high on the agenda during this period with various sports days taking place in the past few weeks. The Secondary one is due to take place next Wednesday at the Thong Nhat stadium. A special congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 students who competed in the Nord Anglia Games last weekend in Bangkok and achieved a great deal of success. This weekend we are holding a community football event at the school which gives our community partners an opportunity to be part of a very special event.
I must congratulate our PTG for organising the BISzaar last Saturday. It was such an colourful event which certainly achieved its aim of bringing the BIS community together with fun activities, great performances with tasty food and drinks – a sincere thank you to all involved.
I do hope you have a wonderful weekend.
